Mosquito Hill Wines

2013 Mosquito Hill Pinot Blanc

$240

This is a savoury wine which in its early years had similarities to Southern Rhone white wine styles but has now (2026) moved into more of an Alsace style Pinot Blanc. This wine was tasted in February 2026 and we believe it is in a beautiful spot and have released 25 dozen as part of our Museum Release wines.

As Pinot Blanc is either the parent (or uncle/aunt) of Chardonnay, it seems appropriate to make it in the same way as our Chardonnay, which is what we do. We have one acre only of Pinot Blanc and in 2013 produced only 100 cases.

The grapes were air bagged pressed and after cold settling the juice was transferred to old French oak barriques for fermentation and elevage. The wine was bottled without fining or filtration. It is quite a savoury dry white style with enough fruit to make it interesting and delicious.
