Mosquito Hill Wines
2025 Mosquito Hill Emeritus Chardonnay
This is wine was made from grapes grown on our Magpie's Song Vineyard in the Southern Fleurieu. The fruit was whole-bunch pressed and racked to French oak hogsheads (30% new) with full solids. The wines underwent malolactic fermentation and remained on lees for 10 months before blending and bottling.
Mid-weighted and contemporary in style with a bright acid line, this wine is showing flavours of nougat, stone fruit and a hint of vanilla.
We are super excited to share this wine, as it is the first we are releasing made by our contract wine maker, Matt Large. A phenomenal local wine maker, previously snr wine maker at Shaw & Smith, making Tolpuddle & M3 amongst many others, is now overseeing our vineyard management and making our wines - we could not be more excited for the future of Mosquito Hill Wines with Matt onboard.
Enjoyed now and will continue to improve in the bottle as our Chardonnay's always do.
